In February 2019, Miss World Organization publicly announced that the 69th Miss World Final will be hosted in Thailand but unfortunately this was changed due to unrevealed reasons and it is going to be held in London. Rwanda is among the countries that are to participate and Miss Rwanda 2019, Nimwiza Meghan will represent Rwanda.
This was going to be the first time in the history of Miss World that Thailand was going to host this big event but due to some reasons it will not be able to. It has been shifted from Thailand to London where all participants from all over the world will carry their three – week festival and the finals.
Via Miss world’s Instagram page, they officially announced that this beauty pageant is going to be held in London on 14th December 2019` "Chairman and CEO has today announced live with Piers Morgan on Good Morning Britain exciting plans to bring 130 incredible women from all over the world to London for a three – week festival and Miss World final. London is a greatest city in the world to visit. It's where Miss World started in 1951 as part of the festival of Britain celebrations and this year we are going to put on the best show ever.’’
Contestants will arrive in London on 20th November 2019, the opening ceremony will be held in London and each contestant will then compete in a series of fast track events that guarantee a place in the top 30. These events include: Multimedia, Sports, Talent, Top model, Head to head challenge and beauty with a purpose challenge projects from every contestant, taking them on a journey across some of the London’s most iconic landmarks taking in its rich culture and heritage.
Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce de Leon
Miss Vanessa Ponce de Leon is the recent crowned Miss World who was crowned last year in 2018 outsmarting all other participants including Miss Iradukunda Liliane who represented Rwanda that time and did not manage to win the crown. Miss Rwanda 2019 Nimwiza Meghan will be the one to represent Rwanda this time in this event that will take place in London, Meghan now becomes the 4th Rwandese miss to attend Miss world beauty pageant competition following Miss Rwanda 2016 Mutesi Jolly, Miss Rwanda 2017 Iradukunda Elsa and Miss Rwanda 2018 Iradukunda Liliane.
