From Friday 28th June to 7th July 2019, Humberd city, based in German, will be hosting final World beach volleyball tournament.
Rwanda is amongst countries who will
take part in the tournament, which was officially started by FIVB in 1997. It
was started for the first time in Los Angeles, since then, it occurs once in
two years, and is going to be taking place on its 12th time in this
year. The previous tournament was staged in Vienna, Austria in 2017.
Rwanda will be represented by two
teams, men and women, since Olivier Ntagengwa and Kavalo Patrick Akumuntu were
shortlist to form a national team while Charlotte Nzayisenga and Judith
Hakizimana stand for women’s side.
On Tuesday
25, June 2019, both teams were given opportunity to hoist the national
flag high as a hallmark of giving them power to represent the country in German.

During the ceremony, meant to empower Rwandans teams, held at the national stadium, Amahoro, Guy Rurangayire, who is in charge of sports in the ministry of sports and culture in Rwanda, was a guest of honor together with Leandre Karekezi, presiding Rwanda volleyball federation.

The two teams from Rwanda
are expected to be coached by Jean Luc Ndayicyengurukiye while Providence Mukamurenzi
will be a head of delegation.
