MNI Organized Music Competition to Detect Local Talents

Muzika Nyarwanda Ipande MNI is a private organization  founded to promote Rwandan music through  prioritizing local singers. They organized  voting based vie whereby local people will be able to vote their favorite songs on  USSD: *611#  . A person will be able to vote and follow the instructions, selection of songs  will be done via whatsaap.  Numbers to be contacted are available on  IYINIMNI platforms including  Instagram, Youtube, Twitter and Face book. The event is expected  to be staged every month  and the nominees will be  voted in 3 weeks of one month. Then award giving ceremony due in the fourth week in the end of the month of June.

This program based competition  is designed in  an easy way for voters thanks to  the use of  a mobile phone by just sending a  text message and get charged only Rwf50. This is scheduled to be done monthly, meaning, from June to June except for December and June due to   December being  a holiday month and June being a month which MNI is to hold an event call '' MNI TARAMA'' which will bring  artists together.

'' We sat and realized that the only gap which hinders quality of Rwandan music is that Rwandan scarcely support their own music as it should be, and  we came up with a strategy that will held both the artists and Rwandan music fans, which is to get Rwandese involved in the selection of their songs and winners will be awarded, we hope that it will succeed and motivate artists,'' said  the Managing Director, Jean Christian Ndikubwayo during a press conference. 

Voting and selecting music will base on finding the most 5 loved songs which will compete in the nomination and the winner will be awarded a prize of Frw1,000,000 and the  4  remaining will be awarded accordingly. 

'' Different projects were put in place as a way to support Rwandan music, we put MNI Funding project which will link artists and their supporters to fund them through this funding project,'' said  Butera Gaga Scoot.
