Tidjara Kabendera burst into tears during a charity act by ‘Islamic Action for Development’

Tidjara Kabendera,a renowned journalist at RBA (Rwanda Broadcasting Agency) burst into tears after a testimonial of a vulnerable mother she visited along with Islamic Action for Development, an organisation which aim at supporting sick people at home.

This organisation named ‘Islamic Action for Development’ visits people who are sick at their homes as a way of supporting them in their daily life and give them hope. Hakizimana who is the leader of this organisation told Inyarwanda that this organisation is composed of 20 members.

Inyarwanda .com met Hakizimana during a visit they had paid a woman named ‘Maman David’ at her home in Nyamirambo. Mama David was infected by his husband who was secretly taking his ARVs without telling her. When she found out that she was infected, her immunity was already too weak and the husband left the family behind. Mama David is on her own, raising 4 children of whom one is infected.

After Maman David’s story, Tidjara Kabendera was very touched that she cried. Maman David has already started taking ARVs even though she started it a little bit late; she is now getting well.Tidjara was invited to join the group because of her popularity as one of the famous women in the country. She was also asked to sensitize her fellow celebrities to participate in the advocacy the help the needy.
