President Paul Kagame and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron have taken a guided tour around the VIVA technology camp in Paris.
Also exhibiting are a dozen of Rwandans at the ‘’Visit Rwanda stand ‘’the focus is on Kigali Innovation City, now in development at the Special Economic Zone.
Claire Akamanzi welcomed President Macron and showed him around what Rwandan startups have in offer.
The exhibition is scheduled to last until May 26th and several side events are lined up to cater for different participants.
Meanwhile Europe based TechCrunch Startup Battlefield Europe is at VivaTech in Paris to find the best stage startups across Europe.
According to organisers, the 15 preselected startups will present their project in front of a jury of top investors and entrepreneurs. TechCrunch has also unveiled this outstanding jury composed of 20 international tech stars.
The finalist will be awarded « Best Startup in Europe 2018 » and will receive a €25,000 prize plus an all-expense paid trip for two to San Francisco to participate in the famous Disrupt San Francisco Battlefield in September 2018.
At the exhibition park, Microsoft is also showcasing the role of Artificial intelligence (AI) for the future.
With more than 1,500 startups in the world and an average fund raising of $22 million, AI has become a particularly dynamic industry of its own that, at its core, is a powerful tool for innovation.
Microsoft believes artificial intelligence must magnify the ingenuity of man. It must help and support people, not replace them.
Microsoft is showcasing how it has established three principles to govern its AI activities; – Place humanity at the heart of the machine, Control AI and the algorithms that use it, Democratize AI.
On Friday, there will be Blockchain Influencers Breakfast. Those invited include industry experts, VC’s crypto funds, scholars, creatives, leading blockchains, DLT’s, lawyers and consultants and other influencers.
