After visiting Genocide survivors of the Kayonza District and granting Mutuelle de Sante to 1000 needy families from Kicukiro, PGGSS 6 contenders, yesterday, went in the Western Province in a special May program.

It is in the line of a month of doing good deeds and kind work – a program that Bralirwa, in partnership with EAP, started back in 2011 – that PGGSS artists are touring Rwanda in this program, which was initiated in order to bring artists and Rwandans closer together, especially Genocide survivors, vulnerable and needy people.

In this same program’s line, PGGSS musicians, headed by EAP and Bralirwa leaders, went to Rubavu to visit Gisenyi and the surroundings, doing good deeds and work. Then, they visited patients at the Gisenyi Hospital and after gave them a 1 million Rwf check for support.

After the hospital visit, the artists continued their journey in the West by visiting the Bralirwa industry located in Gisenyi too.  But before, they stepped and went to honor Bralirwa workers who were killed in 1998 due to ethnic ideologies of some people. The workers were in a bus, which was later stopped by Abacengezi, who are the killers, who then asked them to divide themselves into Tutsi and Hutu; the latter did not accept to do so, reiterating the fact that they are all Rwandans. Following this, the killers decided to kill them though some survived.

It is after the memorial visit that the artists got to visit Bralirwa industries in Rubavu. Here, they were explained how fermentation is done until the beer is ready to be put at the market and sold.

Inside the industry, artists along with Bralirwa leaders and former workers once again honored the 1998 souls by putting flowers on their coffins

After all these 3 activities, artists are set to do one more good deed before the 14th May, the time PGGSS roadshows will start in Gicumbi.

After a great day, the artists and people who joined them took a souvenir picture. From the left, we have Benjah, Lucky, Tino, Allioni, Christopher, Bagenzi Bernard, Bruce Melody, Danny Vumbi and Danny Nanone.
