Nshimiyumukiza Onesme, an investor in the Rwandan film industry, who lately had signed contracts with local film actors for monthly salaries was pursued by the Police, which had an arrest warrant against this man, but as for now, the nowhere to be found man sent a sign of life again.

Onesme was again seen last Friday with Jean Claude, who accused the former of a procurement of a no founding check for a film purchase. In fact, Onesme had an unpaid debt of 1 million and eight hundred thousand Rwandan francs towards Jean Claude; these two men were gathered along with a huge crowd of cinema fans and producers all from Rwanda with the aim of ending this issue.

Jean Claude and Onesme finally ended on good terms under the supervision of the Police, which also stopped the arrest warrant against Onesme, as the truth on some crimes that Onesme was accused of was shed unto them.

The settlement between these two men was not easy; however, they did come to peace with the help of the Cinema Director and the Police. The settlement removed any accusation and sanction that was directed to Onesme, for he paid part of the money owed to Jean Claude.

Onesme told Inyarwanda.com, after all this,

“It is true that Jean Claude had a no founding check, but it was not my intent to give it to him because the money was on another account. As a matter of fact, I am waiting for him – Jean Claude – to give me part of the movie, and I will soon proceed with the rest of the payment. What happened is that I had to quickly run in Nairobi for business purposes, and I did not have time to inform Jean Claude of my departure; we have already settled this.” – Onesme

Regarding the fact that he was unreachable – and even his wife attested so, Onesme said,

“That is not true at all. After reading the news that I was pursued by the authority, I directly called my wife to ask her if there was someone who talked to her about it, and she said that there wasn’t. I think that maybe someone tried to get in touch with her but couldn’t, as she is a busy businesswoman. I admit that I went out of the country without informing, but here I am settling this problem, and I believe it’s been solved.” – Onesme

Upon reaching the Nyarugenge Police Station, Jean Claude and Onesme agreed to a deal of seven hundred thousand Rwandan Francs because the latter did not have all the money on him at that time. The other part of the deal is that Onesme has to provide Jean Claude with the rest of the money within two months or the film purchase deal will be annulled.

Jean Claude, during his talk with Inyarwanda.com, said that he has been paid the money and is confident that the rest is to come. He stated that the important thing is that he has been remunerated and that the problem was solved. In his own words, “My intent was not to put him in jail but solve this whole payment issue. I believe that the problem was settled, and we are both on good terms; you may want to ask him to verify.”

Onesme, after all the controversy surrounding him, said that he will continue his projects in the film industry.

The Police, after witnessing the settlement between the two parties, stopped the arrest warrant against Onesme. Part of the money that Jean Claude required was paid and the remaining part is soon to come as included in the clause of the deal that was signed by the two men at the Police Station.
