CRICKET: Match officials met in a score recording course

Rwanda Cricket Assosciation (RCA) hosted an introductory event to scoring course on Saturday 21st April 2018 at Accord Hotel with 24 participants from across the country.

The aim of the course was to provide participants with the basic skills and knowledge to record a cricket match results and statistics. There are a number of skills required to become a score recorder in a such in a such cricket tie. So participants were helped to get a grip on all of them from the very basics needed.

Topics covered included How to score, recognizing umpire signals and balancing the book of results. Information packs were also distributed to the course attendees which contained useful information on the basics of scoring.

The development of scorers is a key priority within RCA’s workforce development plan and is also a key objective and requirement for leagues throughout the county. 

Nowadays, different clubs from Rwanda Cricket Association are in intensive preparations ahead the Genocide Memorial Tournament (GMT 2018) slated in June, 2018.
