Electoral Commission announces road map for FERWAFA Presidential Polls

The Rwanda Football Federation (FERWAFA) Electoral Commission has announced the road map for the upcoming FERWAFA Presidential elections. The FERWAFA Elective General Assembly will be held on March 31, 2018 at 14:00 at Lemigo Hotel in Kigali City.

The Electoral Commission president Adolphe Kalisa said in the media briefing held on Friday at Rwanda Football Federation headquarters in Remera that the process of aspiring for FERWAFA presidency is open to all interested Rwandans and anyone willing to do so will have to submit their nomination forms on February 19 to the electoral body.

The Electoral Commission was established by the FERWAFA Extraordinary General Assembly held which on October 29, 2017 at Lemigo Hotel.

The Ferwafa Electoral Commission is also comprised of president Kalisa, Nsabimana Boniface (vice president), while Niyobuhungiro Fidel (Mukura VS), Muhozi Masuhuko Paulin (Gakenke WFC) and Ndashimye Emmanuel (Bugesera Fc) are elected seating members.

The FERWAFA Acting General Secretary Habineza Emmanuel doubles as the sectetary of the electoral committee.

The roadmap to the 2018 FERWAFA presidential elections is as follows;
February 09/02/2018:
 Announcing the road-map for the elections procedures (Press Conference)
February 19, 2018: Submission of Nomination forms
February 28, 2018: Scrutiniing candidates’ nomination files
March 08, 2018: Receiving petitions and hearing appeals if any
March 09, 2018: Declaration of Candidates
March 12, 2018: Official campaigning period of declared candidates
March 31, 2018, 14:00: Elections & Announcing theFERWAFA Executive Committee
April 3, 2018: Submission of election report

The newly elected Ferwafa president and his Executive Committee will serve a four-year term from 2018 to 2021.
