Liverpool star leapfrogs Egypt above Uganda to take closer step to World Cup 2018

Liverpool star Mohammed Salah's early first half goal was all that Egypt seeked for to beat Uganda 1-0 in a world cup qualifier match day four clash played at the Borg El Arab stadium in Alexandria.

The win pushed the Pharaohs to the top of group E with nine points after four games.

Uganda remain second with seven points while Ghana follow closely with five after pounding Congo in Kitentele, Brazaville.

The Cranes started the game in a brashly presumptuous mode allowing the hosts to several chances on goal.

In the sixth minute, Abdalla El Said picked a pass from the left flank and chipped a mid range one into the box aiming for Salah.

The Liverpool man struck a first-time shot but Onyango blocked. His second attempt was a clever tap that the Africa number one only felt with his hand as the ball flew into the net.
