Thanksgiving Day was a revelation from God in 2006 through a Biblical Scripture in the book of Deuteronomy 8: 12 – 14 which says.
“Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, and when your herd and flock grow larger, your silver and gold increase and all you have amplify; your heart can then feel excited and you tend to forget the Lord, your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.”
God reportedly revealed this verse to Apostle Alice Mignonne that Rwandans across the country whether believers or non-believers, will annually get seated together to honor, recognize and celebrate what God has done in their lives. They will dedicate be it themselves, all of their treasure in an attempt to accomplish mission of the hands of God Almighty that include Recreation, Regeneration, Multiplication and Protection according to His will.
Since 2007, WFM has been organizing Thanksgiving Day annually by doing community outreach programs aimed at encouraging Rwandans to be grateful to God, for the Gift of Life, Accomplishments and God given Visionary Leadership of the Country. Annual Thanksgiving activities also aim at promoting a Culture of giving thanks, a Rwandan spirit of love, care, sharing and support for the needy and the vulnerable Rwandans living in our communities.
“This year, we will be joined by a number of various stakeholders including Corporate companies, Churches and Ministries, and individuals from all walks of life and status and reach out to help and support 100 children living with mental and physical disabilities at INSHUTI Z’ABAKENE Child Care Center at Gahanga, in Kicukiro District, on Friday 24th November 2017 from 9am”, Pastor Liz Desire Bitorwa of Women Foundation Ministries revealed.
She added that the generous support will include; kind donations to help these children and the center to buy sanitary items, non-perishable soft foodstuff, clothes, beddings, caretakers protective garments, children study scholastic materials and cash to supplement on the center’s little annual budget.
This year’s Thanksgiving Gala-Dinner is to celebrate Rwandans’ gratefulness to God for the Gift of Life and Accomplishments especially in the year 2017, including the August concluded peaceful Presidential elections and God’s given Visionary Leadership of the Country. This Thanksgiving Dinner is also aimed at promoting a Culture of gratitude, a Rwandan spirit of love, care, sharing and support for the needy and the vulnerable Rwandans living within our communities. The gala dinner that will bring together hundreds of development stakeholders and partners that will include government leaders, Corporate company executives, Faith-based leaders, Academic Custodians, Media Gurus, Philanthropists, Elders, Opinion Leaders and other distinguished invited guests.
