MTN Rwanda is back to growth and outperforms competition in revenue market share

MTN Rwanda has had a good first quarter 2017, with the companys total revenue increasing by 3% compared to Q4 2016. The RURA quarterly report shows that MTN Rwanda is winning revenue market share in Rwanda, outperforming the competition.


Looking ahead to the next quarter results, MTN Rwanda CEO Bart Hofker expects to see a positive trend.

 “We are focusing on improving our core business, which means new attractive propositions for our customers and more investments in our network, which we expect will pay off in the longer term.”

MTN Rwanda is currently revitalizing its brand and introduced value based MTN, Irekure voice packs, which have been well received by customers and are expected to drive further growth in the next quarter.

As for the year ahead, MTN Rwanda anticipates a high increase of mobile data usage for Rwanda and has started ramping up its network investments by 15% this year.

Against this backdrop and with a steady growth in Mobile Money Financial Services, MTN Rwanda’s future looks bright and confident for sustainable growth.
