SKOL brewery Ltd, the fast growing brewery in the country through its craft beer VIRUNGA proudly sponsored the second edition of Waka warrior race held at Masaka Farms last Sunday 18th June 2017.

Skol Brewery sponsored this year’s edition for the first time, creating different activities during which the Craft Beer Connoisseurs could connect with its precious artisanal craft beer Virunga.

The best winner of the race were rewarded accordingly

Not only were craft beer lovers given opportunities to provide feedback on Virunga beer, but they were also rewarded with a fresh Virunga beer at each purchase of a bottle of Precious Virunga beer of their choice (Gold or Mist). On top of this, Virunga consumers received a handmade gorilla key holder as a gift and symbol of precious life cherishment.

Antoine IYAMUREMYE, SKOL Brand Manager noted that the race has quickly transformed into a tool capable of fostering social activities, working out, getting muddy and having fun amongst international/ regional/local communities living here in Rwanda.

He added that this is the underlining reason that Virunga brand chose to partner with the Waka warrior organizers so as to popularize the game and interacting with Virunga consumers.

“We are proud to be sponsoring the Waka warrior race for the first time. Our aim is to partner with this race making the Waka warrior race one of the most Precious obstacle races in central Africa”.

Over 400 contestants were involved in different obstacle challenges - team work, fire, ice and barbed wire - testing their creativity, persistence and flexibility.

Virunga (Mist & Gold) brewed by Skol and Waka fitness gym will strengthen this partnership escalating into biggest races in coming years.
